Beverly Ann Cowling

Beverly Ann Cowling September 15, 1946 – September 9, 2025 Beverly Ann Cowling, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, auntie, a loving sister and friend; passed away on September 9, 2025, at home in Canton, Michigan. She was 78 years old, born on September 15, 1946, born to Jesse and Lavert Russell of Westland, Michigan. Beverly was the second oldest daughter, raised alongside Marilyn, Cynthia, Jessica, and Rosiland. Amongst the five siblings, Beverly was well known as “Bep or Bev” to many, especially when she graduated from Inkster High School in 1964. Beverly met her love and best friend, George Cowling, in 1969 while working at Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The two were married on September 25, 1971. In 1973 they accepted a bible study that changed their lives forever. Together they both dedicated their lives to Jehovah God on July 13 ,1973, and shared a strong spiritual faith that embodies their lives to this day. The family continued to grow over the years, with George and Beverly raising six children, making sure they were raised on spiritual values from Jehovah. Beverly and George have been married for 54 years this September, and lived happily in their home in Canton, Michigan for the past 33 years. Together Beverly and George progressed in Jehovah’s service, conducting many Bible studies, and helping others to also come to love and serve Jehovah. Beverly served for years as a faithful pioneer and had the privilege of working in unassigned and in seldom worked territories in various regions of the country (Lamar Colorado, North Dakota, Kentucky, Tennessee and a number of locations in Michigan). Those who knew Bev knew that she was the happiest when she could share her love for Jehovah with others. Her faith was such an integral part of her personality because of that love for Jehovah. Beverly had such a generous and hospitable spirit towards everyone she met. She would always welcome friends, new and old, into her home where they truly felt like family. George and Beverly were always hosting card parties, dance nights, goodie nights and Watchtower studies in their home. Beverly was also very devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She supported them while they were in school, took them on family vacations, and made sure each of them knew how to swim. She was known as the “cool mom,” not only by her children, but also by their friends. Beverly is survived by her devoted husband, George Cowling; her children, Paul (Dina) Young, Jr., Andre (Charlotte) Young, Ana (Frank) Balducci, Alise Cowling, Ethan Cowling and Quinton Cowling; her eight grandchildren Porsha Young, Andre Young, Jr., Nian Cowling, Aiden Young, Arion Balducci, Sonti Balducci, Teryn Robinson Cowling, and Kani Robinson. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Charles Johnson, Tre Nelson, Cole Nelson and Gianna Cowling. She also leaves behind two sisters, Jessica Dickerson and Rosiland (Rick) Ross as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; each of whom she loved very much! Additionally, over the many years she has made hundreds, if not thousands of friends, both near and far, all who have loving memories of Beverly, both as a person, and most importantly, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. We are sure that all who knows Beverly will miss her greatly! A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 27th at 4 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 47343 West Ann Arbor Trail, Plymouth, Michigan 48170.
