Binu Gerald, August 15, 2024 age 54 of Northville. Binu Gerald, age 54, of Northville, passed away on August 15, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. Binu is survived by his beloved wife, Shaija Joseph, with whom he shared 23 wonderful years of marriage, having wed on May 5, 2001, in Kuravilangad, India. He was the loving father of Theresa, Alaina, and Benjamin, who were the pride and joy of his life. Born on April 10, 1970, in Kollam, Kerala, India, Binu was the cherished son of Gerald Edward and Gracy Gerald. He grew up alongside his dear siblings, Binda, Preetha, and Princy, maintaining a close bond with his family throughout his life. He held a special place in his heart for all of his cousins, especially Jubi Chackunkal, Shibu Lukose, and his brother-in-laws. Binu earned his degree in Physical Therapy from Dr. M.V. Shetty College in Mangalore, graduating in 1996. He built a successful career as a dedicated physical therapist, being recognized as "Therapist of the Year" in 2020, a testament to his skill, compassion, and commitment to helping others. Outside of his professional life, Binu had a wide array of interests and hobbies. He was an avid chess player, even earning the title of Chess Champion. He also enjoyed playing badminton, card games, and spending time in his garden. Binu was known for his love of music and his knack for tackling house projects. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and friends and had a passion for teaching and sharing his knowledge with others. Visitation for Binu Gerald will be held on Sunday, August 18th, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church, 17235 Mt. Vernon Street, Southfield, MI 48075. The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, August 19th, 10:00 AM, also at St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
