Judy Oleksiak

Oleksiak, Judith L. “Judy” – beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 81. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert “Bob” Oleksiak, with whom she shared over 60 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and cherished memories. Judy was the loving mother of Jennifer (Brian) Kwiatkowski and the proud grandmother of Kylie Kwiatkowski, whom she adored. She was also a dear sister to Susan, Rick, and Donna. Born and raised in Detroit, Judy grew up in a home filled with music and dance. American Bandstand played in the living room, and she never missed an opportunity to dance. Her passion for performing even led to a special television appearance as a tap dancer. Shortly after graduating from Cody High School in 1961, Judy married Bob, and together they embraced a lifetime of travel and exploration. From peaceful summers at their cottage up north to adventures in national parks and magical vacations at Disney World, they found joy in discovering new places. Judy’s warmth and kindness extended to everyone around her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always cheering from the sidelines and offering endless support. A true friend and a listening ear, she had a way of making people feel loved and understood. She dedicated many years as an account specialist with University Moving and generously gave her time as a school volunteer and Girl Scout leader. A faithful member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, she found comfort and community in her faith. Judy’s home was always filled with love, laughter, and the companionship of many beloved pets over the years. She lived by the words: "Sing like no one is listening, love like you’ve never been hurt, dance like no one is watching." Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck) Plymouth. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, March 22nd, at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Humane, Attn: Philanthropy, 2937 E.
