Lee Ann Farrell

Lee Ann Farrell, age 80, of Canton, passed away on August 9, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Paul R. Farrell. Loving mother of Cathy Farrell and Mike (Rachel) Farrell. Proud grandmother of John Farrell and Maggie Farrell. Dear sister of Ted (Pat) Miedlar. Lee Ann was born on July 6, 1946, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to the late Leo and Ann Miedlar. She graduated from Mercy High School in 1964 and from the Providence Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. On August 3, 1968, she married Paul R. Farrell. Lee Ann devoted her professional life to caring for others. During her nursing career, she worked at Children’s Hospital in Detroit, Mercy-Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan, and with the Medical Personnel Pool. She spent the final 37 years of her career at the University of Michigan Medical Center, where she worked at Mott Children’s Hospital and in various other clinics. She retired on December 30, 2016. Lee Ann’s commitment to helping others continued well beyond her nursing career. She generously volunteered her time with the St. John Neumann Women’s Organization, where she served as president, as well as with food banks, clothing banks, and many other charitable organizations. She was also involved with the Canton Jaycee Women, the Michigan Nurses Association, and Widowed Friends. In her free time, Lee Ann enjoyed reading, working puzzles, playing cards, and gathering for board games. Above all, she will be remembered for her caring nature, generous spirit, and lifelong dedication to helping others. Visitation will be held Monday, August 17, from 3 PM until 8 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck) Plymouth. Lee Ann will lie in state Tuesday, August 18, from 10:30 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 44800 Warren Road, Canton.
