Leon A. Dziadzio

Leon Adam Dziadzio, aged 89, a lifelong resident of Detroit, Michigan, entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2024, just 6 days shy of his 90th birthday. This was a milestone he so wanted to celebrate. He may not have been able to celebrate here, but he certainly did celebrate with Shirley. Born on March 26, 1934, in Detroit, Leon was a man deeply rooted in his community and devoted to its sports and culture. An unwavering supporter of the Detroit Lions, Leon's fervor for his team was infectious. He would eagerly discuss every game, good or bad, with his son Jeff. He was a devoted fan of any and all Detroit sports teams. His enthusiasm extended to the racetracks at Northville Downs and Hazel Park, where he reveled in the excitement of the races. Leon was also known for his "Mad Money" can, and if you were lucky, you might get a bit of that Mad Money! Leon also enjoyed relaxing on the back porch glider and admiring his meticulously maintained lawn. Leon was a devoted car lover, washing his vehicles weekly, and keeping them in pristine condition. A door dent was as serious as a broken finger! Above all, Leon was a family man, where his storytelling and memory-making were cherished. Although he enjoyed telling stories, he loved listening to good stories even more; the more adjectives, the better! Leon was predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley Dziadzio, who passed away in 2017. High school sweethearts, they shared nearly 59 years of marriage, filled with love and fond memories. Leon is survived by his daughter, Karen Grasela, his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Liz Dziadzio, his sister and brother-in-law, Gene and Denny Stan, and his grandsons Lucas, Jason, and Logan. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 6th, from 3 PM until the 4:30 PM Memorial Service at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, located at 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (Between Sheldon and Beck), Plymouth. Leon's legacy of love, devotion, and community spirit will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Live in heavenly peace.
