Maria Anita Jabara

Maria Anita Jabara passed away on October 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 11, 1948 in Olivella, Italy to the late Guido and Costanza (D’Agostino) Di Mambro. At age 10, she immigrated with her family to the United States, settling in Detroit. Though far from her birthplace, she embraced every opportunity this new life offered while proudly honoring her Italian heritage. Plymouth, Michigan would become the community where she built her home, raised her family, and created lifelong memories. Anita was predeceased by her beloved husband, James (Jim) Jabara, and by Giuseppe (Joe) Marra, father of her son. She dedicated her career to women’s retail fashion, serving as a store manager for many years. She was admired for her impeccable style, her natural leadership, and the care she showed to customers and colleagues alike. She inherited a remarkable work ethic from her parents, a commitment to doing every task with pride and putting the needs of others before her own. She was the devoted mother of Jason (Koeun) Marra, and adored and proud Nana of Joseph and Matteo. Dear sister of Francesca (Warren Valente) Di Mambro, Maria Dario, and Rita Siedlaczek. Cherished aunt of Brandon, Adam, Bianca, Olivia, and Liana. Anita’s heart was always with her family. She loved returning to Italy often, reconnecting with her roots and sharing that joy with those she loved. She was an exceptional cook known for her delicious Italian meals, and she found great happiness in entertaining and bringing people together. Every gathering, whether big or small, was filled with warmth, laughter, and love because she was at the center of it. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her kindness, grace, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation: Wednesday, November 5th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck), Plymouth. Funeral Service: Thursday, November 6th Time TBD at the funeral home, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth. A luncheon will be held at Laurel Manor immediately following the interment. All family and friends are welcome to join in continuing to celebrate Anita’s life.
