Nancy E. Gregory M.D.

Gregory, Nancy Elizabeth (Thomas) M.D., age 56, passed away August 1, 2013 at her residence in Northville, surrounded by loving family and friends, following a long battle with cancer. Nancy was the daughter of Donald and the late Eleanor Thomas. She grew up in Bay City, Michigan and graduated with honors from Western High School. She went on to attend Blodgett School of Nursing and Calvin College, receiving a diploma degree in nursing. She then attended the University of Michigan and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S.N. degree. Nancy received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, where she graduated second in her class. She completed post-graduate study at the Henry Ford Health System and received fellowships in Nuclear Medicine, Body MRI, and Breast Imaging. She also spearheaded the Expedited Breast Imaging Program at Beaumont, which led to patients getting their imaging and biopsies in a timely manner. Nancy was honored to be elected to a Fellowship in the American College of Radiology, which consists of the top 10% of radiologists in the country. At the time of her death, she was serving as the Co-Director of Breast Imaging at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with family, friends and her beloved pets. Nancy is survived by her daughter Elizabeth “Liz” Eleanor Gregory, her life-partner Laurence Gregory, her father Donald Thomas, her sister Sandy (Larry) Crandell, nephews Joshua and Drew Crandell, Uncle Gerald (Judy) Hoffman, and cousins Steven (Kathy) Hoffman, and Michael (Lori) Hoffman. Visitation Monday 4-8 PM at Vermeulen Funeral Home, 46401 West Ann Arbor Road (3 ½ miles West of I-275) Plymouth. A Memorial Service will follow Tuesday 11 AM at Ward Presbyterian Church (Chapel), 40000 West Six Mile Road (west of Haggerty) Northville MI 48167.
