Nola Mae Brunelle

Nola Brunelle, a woman of many talents and a heart full of love and service, departed this life on October 20, 2024. Born on May 8, 1936, in London, Kentucky, Nola was a devoted wife to Alphonse (Al) Brunelle, who preceded her in death in 2001. Together, they raised two children: Timothy of Garden City, Michigan, and David (wife Karen) of Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She was the proud grandmother of David Michael (wife Alyssa) of Spring Lake, MI, and eagerly awaited the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace. Nola's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to others. From founding a food bank in Taylor, MI, to spreading the gospel through her Happiness is Gospel Ministry in cities and depressed areas across various countries, her dedication to service was boundless. One of the highlights of her life was a mission trip to Kenya, where she shared her message of hope and joy. A gifted musician, Nola shared the stage with renowned figures, including Country Music Hall of Fame guitarist, Chet Atkins. She and her sisters, known as The Mullins Sisters, performed on iconic shows like the Cass Walker Show in Knoxville, Tennessee, and the Midday Merry-Go-Round, as well as their local Corbin, Ky. radio station. Her musical talents and passion for performance were admired by many. Nola’s love for her family was profound. She divided her time between London, Kentucky; St. Petersburg, Florida; and Detroit, Michigan, ensuring she remained closely connected with her loved ones. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Victoria Mullins, and several siblings, Edgar Mullins (Lexington, Kentucky), Eula Fondaw (Detroit, Michigan), Russ Mullins (London, Kentucky), Mary Rose Williams (Portage, Indiana), and Ruby Rush (London, Kentucky) Nola is survived by her two sisters, Lois Reed and Mildred Beckner of London, Kentucky. Nola's life was a rich tapestry of service, music, and family. Her positive attitude, servant’s heart, and deep love for her family left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. Gathering with family and friends on Sunday, November 10th from 2 PM until the 4 PM Memorial Service at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 980 N.
