Remedios Borromeo, age 86 of Livonia; passed away on December 25, 2016. Beloved Wife of both the late Timoteo Arcenal and Rafael Borromeo; dear Mother of Benedicto (Elena) Arcenal, Edgardo (Jocelyn) Arcenal, Rainer (Melissa) Borromeo, Glenn (Kathy) Borromeo, Lester Borromeo; proud Grandmother of Derek, Courtney, Brittney, Alana, Ian, Bleu, Summer, Lanai, Leslie, Zachary, Jamisen; Great-Grandmother of Brianna, Michael, Blake, Mackenzie, Hannah, Luke, Brooke, Preston; caring Sister of Gerardo Catamio, the late David Catamio, the late Sergio Catamio, and the late Ben Catamio. Remedios is also survived by many loving relatives all throughout the World. A Registered Nurse for over 50 years, Remedios started her career being a part of the Colombo Plan Fellow where she was trained to help paraplegic patients in third World Countries. After her training and duties in the Philippines and abroad, Remedios immigrated with her family to the US and was sponsored by the West Shore Hospital in Manistee, MI, where she practiced as a Registered Nurse and raised her family. She ended her career at Northville Regional Psychiatric Hospital in Northville. Besides being a talented and caring nurse to all her patients, Remedios was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, spending all of her time with family when she could. Remedios was a long time and faithful member at St. Theodore Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. The visitation will be Wednesday, December 28th between the hours of 1 PM until 9 PM with a Rosary Service at 6 PM at the Vermeulen – Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 W. Ann Arbor Road, Plymouth, MI 48170 (Between Sheldon & Beck). The Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10 AM at St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church (formerly St. Theodore), 8200 N. Wayne Road, Westland, MI 48185. Mrs. Borromeo will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the Mass. Interment to follow at Cadillac Memorial West, Westland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
