Miller, Richard C, age 63. Beloved husband of Debbie, Loving son of Charles & Kathleen. Loving brother of Jim (Breeda), Joan (Greg) Orlick, Janet (Bill) King, Bill (Ronnie) and John (Debbie). Loving uncle and friend. Rich's life was truly rich. His natural curiosity and enthusiasm for all that life had to offer amazed his family and friends. He married the love of his life, Debbie Uzelac May 17 1992 and together they built a life based on love and service to others. Rich was a Landscape Architect and owner of Avant Gardens, a board member and cellist of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra and former president and fire fighter with the Hamburg Fire Department. He worked as a social worker and teacher working with troubled youth at Boysville. He was a gold medal winner of the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. Rich was an author, a musician, a craftsman, an athlete, a sous chef. A natural musician, Rich played concert cello, oboe, flute, guitar, piano, harmonica,and banjo. He enjoyed sports, always looking to learn and experience something new - he played hockey, football, polo, tennis and curling. He enjoyed fencing, backpacking, cycling and sailing. He loved old sports cars and classic wooden boats. He enjoyed cartoons, silly movies, good wine, folk and classical music and he was a snappy dresser. He loved his family and his friends and was never too busy to stop and chat and share his dreams and learn about other's dreams. Rich Miller made the world a more beautiful place, imagine what he will do in Heaven. Visitation and a celebration of Rich's life will be held Sunday, May 4 at St. Thomas A'Becket Catholic Church from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass Monday, May 5 at 10:30 AM at St Thomas A' Becket, 555 S. Lilley Rd. Canton, MI 48188. To honor Rich, his family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a trust in Rich's name.
