Ronald Gary Cripps August 31, 1943 – August 31, 2025 Ronald Gary Cripps, age 82, passed away peacefully at home in Plymouth, Michigan, on August 31, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born to Harry and Mary Ann Cripps, Ron grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where he began building a life rooted in family, integrity, and quiet humor. After serving in the U.S. Army and being stationed in Germany, Ron returned home and married the love of his life, Diane Schwendenmann, on April 7, 1967. Together, they began raising their family in Redford, Michigan, before settling in Plymouth in January 1978—a place they would call home for the remainder of their lives. Ron worked as a dedicated salesman for McDonald's Modular Solutions, where he specialized in modular offices and mobile homes. Known for his friendly demeanor and dependable nature, he earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Outside of work, Ron found joy in the simple pleasures: tackling crossword puzzles, trying his luck with lottery tickets, and cheering on the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Lions, and University of Michigan football. He loved home-cooked meals, playing cards, a good joke, and spending time with friends and family. Time spent with his loved ones was what he cherished most. He is survived by his children Kimberly (Dean) Osmonson and Ronald (Jamie) Cripps; and his beloved grandchildren Jacob Osmonson, Hannah Cripps, and Gannon Cripps. Ron was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 37 years, Diane Cripps; his parents, Harry and Mary Ann Cripps; and his brother, Kenneth Cripps. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4th, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (between Sheldon and Beck), Plymouth. Funeral Service will follow on Friday, September 5th, at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Ronald will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or the American Cancer Society, in honor of Ron’s generous spirit and lifelong support for those in need.
