Ruth A. Myers

Ruth A. Myers, 84 was born in Morristown, Tennessee December 9, 1925 to Willie Mae (Smith) and Floyd A. Owen Sr. She is survived by a son Ron (Pat) Myers, daughter Terri Myers, granddaughter Heather Jurewicz and grandsons Steve and Mike Myers. She is survived by two sisters Edna (Jim) Mullineaux and Sylvia Greene. Her brother Floyd A. Owen Jr. (J.R.), her husband Scotty and her parents preceded her in passing. She also has many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, aunts and uncles in Tennessee, South Carolina and Michigan. She has adopted many people to become her family members over the years that she loved dearly. They also loved her tremendously and have adopted her as well. She attended High School in Morristown. Ruth moved to Dayton, Ohio and then returned to Morristown before her marriage on July 1, 1946 to Clarence L. Myers (Scotty). They were married for 33 years prior to his passing in 1978. They lived in Chatanooga and Rutledge, TN before moving to Monroe, Michigan. While in Monroe she attended Monroe County Community College. Ruth moved to Canton, Michigan in 1987, remaining there for the rest of her life enjoying and being a part of her lovely neighborhood. Ruth’s favorite hobbies were her great love of working with her flowers and sharing them with many, many people. She partook in the art style Oshibana and made many greeting cards to share. Ruth loved her “sayings” and wrote them in books to give as gifts to several dear ones. She also was an artist and made drawings and paintings to give to others and will pass on lots. Ruth gave of herself in many ways to numerous people, encouraging and listening as a dear friend and loved one. We will miss her smiling face and overwhelming charm. A Memorial Service will be at 6:30pm following a greeting at 6:00pm on Monday March 29 at Vermeulen Funeral Home, 46401 W. Ann Arbor Rd, Plymouth.
