James Leo Keon

April 17, 1924 - January 24, 2021

James L. Keon, age 96, of Westland, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 24, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Livonia while surrounded by his family. He was proceeded in death by his parents Leo and Ruth (nee Goffe) Keon, brother Bill and sister June Thayer. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years Geraldine (nee Fuelling) Keon, sons Robert (Patricia), and David (Susan), granddaughters Kimberly (Daniel) Goodman, Erin (Marc) Rodriguez, great-granddaughter Margaret Goodman and brother Donald Keon. Jim was an accomplished tool and die maker, working at Unistrut in Wayne, Michigan for 40 years. After his retirement from Unistrut, he and Jerry spent many winters in Florida. As a self-taught electrician, Jim enjoyed keeping busy with electrical jobs for his family and friends. He was always ready with a story, and he could be counted on for a laugh. He loved time spent with his family, golfing, bowling, hunting, Friday nights dancing at the Elks with Jerry, and tinkering with the many inventions he created. He and his sense of humor will be dearly missed. His family is planning a private celebration of his life for a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, Westland.
