Lois Evelyn Stanley, April 29, 2022 age 85 of Westland. Loving mother of Sherry, Joseph and the late Timothy Batey. Proud Granny of Troy Batey, Nicholas Batey, Keith Lemley and Kyle Lemley. Lois was born and proud to have grown up in Ashland, TN. Lois grew up driving logging trucks for her father’s sawmill. Lois moved to Michigan as an adult and raised her family in Westland. Lois was a beloved bus driver for over 30 years, many of her students knew her as the yodeling bus driver. Lois was awarded Wayne Westland’s #1 school bus driver throughout her career. Country music was in her heart and soul, as she shared with so many. From writing songs to recording her own albums she was never afraid to get on stage and sought out every opportunity to do so. If there was a microphone around she would find it and was sure to be singing. Lois has brought so many smiles and joy to people through her songs. She was always a loving and kind-hearted person willing to do anything for anyone that was in need. Visitation will be held Friday, May 6th from 1-8 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, located at 980 N. Newburgh Road (between Ford Road and Cherry Hill) in Westland. Funeral Service will occur on Saturday, May 7th at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Entombment at Cadillac Memorial Gardens, in Westland.
