Ronald E. Bird Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bird, Ronald E., May 21, 2022, age 80 of Canton. Ron was a loving husband to Lenora for over 60 years. He was a caring father to Laura (Craig) Hodges and Robert (Donna) Bird and a proud Papa to Jennifer and Lauren. Ron was blessed with loving brothers Terry (Carol) and Jim (Peg) and brothers-in-law Owen, Skip and Jim, along with many nieces and nephews. Ron is also survived by his furry feline Lucca. Ron was a 1959 graduate of Romulus High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan and a master’s from Eastern Michigan. Ron served in the US Army and was stationed in Texas and Colorado. This was followed by an extensive teaching career which allowed him to use his love of history, literature and story-telling. Ron taught in Romulus, Seattle and Northville. Ron was an avid traveler who visited all 50 states and he and Lenora were fortunate to spend many years traveling the world together with a focus on their beloved France. Ron, we will always remember your kindness and compassion…and your incredible sense of humor! Memorial visitation will be on Friday June 17th from 2PM until the 4 PM memorial service at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West, (between Sheldon & Beck) Plymouth, Michigan.
