Ruth Brunk
April 17, 1949 - January 22, 2022
Ruth Brunk -1949-2022 Ruth Brunk was born on April 17, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to Dr. Perry E Brunk DDS and Lulie Taylor Nabors Brunk. She grew up in Dearborn and Beverly Hills, Michigan where Ruth felt she enjoyed a “Norman Rockwell” childhood. Ruth resided in Plymouth, Michigan, for many years prior to her death on January 22, 2022. Ruth earned her high school diploma from the Bloomfield Country Day School in 1967. During her high school years, Ruth was a member of the student library staff. Following graduation, she worked for the Michigan Life Insurance Company for many years. Most recently, before retiring, Ruth worked for Kelly Services at the Yazaki Corporation. Albert Einstein once said, “The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the Library.” Ruth firmly believed this, visiting the Plymouth District Library nearly every day prior to the Covid pandemic. Ruth was notorious within her family for being unable to pass a newspaper without picking it up to read. An accomplished needle artist, Ruth created many needlepoint and cross stitch items for her extended family. She studied history and followed politics closely. An avid Tigers baseball fan since childhood, Ruth rarely missed a televised Tigers game. Ruth is survived by her brothers, Wilfred N. Brunk (Debra Schou Brunk) Plymouth, MI, and Andrew T. Brunk (Kathy Szollar) Loudon, TN; and her sister Camille Brunk Venners (Ed) Rochester, MN. She was a loving aunt to her nieces Leah Brunk Hegeholz (Kyle); Rachael Brunk Krutty (John); Rebecca Venners Johnson; and Margaret R. Venners; and to her nephew Justin B. Venners. There will be a private Funeral Service with Entombment at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia. Memorial contributions may be made to Gleaners Community Food Bank, 2131 Beaufait Street, Detroit, MI 48207 or Plymouth Salvation Army, 9451 South Main Street, Plymouth, MI 48170.
