Carol L. Benoit

Carol L. Benoit, age 81, of Canton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. Born to Theophile LaCroix and Clemance Hamlin, Carol lived a life centered on faith, compassion, family, and friendship. She was the beloved wife of Richard Benoit and a devoted mother to her late sons, Stephen and David. She was also a loving stepmother to Melissa (Rick) Morton, Stacie Benoit, and Drew (Bianca) Benoit. Carol was the cherished sister of Beverly Causby and a caring grandmother and friend to many. Carol was known for her kind and compassionate heart. She deeply loved dogs and babies and was always concerned for the well-being of others and mankind as a whole. Her warmth, empathy, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. In her earlier years, Carol enjoyed traveling and treasured the many adventures she experienced throughout her life. Her travels took her to destinations including Cabo, Las Vegas, Europe, Arizona, Aruba, the Caribbean, Italy, Florida, Niagara Falls, and the East Coast, creating memories she loved to share with family and friends. During those years, Carol was also very active with the Canton Jaycees/Jaycettes, where she proudly served as secretary. A devoted member and founding parishioner of St. John Neumann Church, Carol remained actively involved in her faith community throughout the years. Her dedication included participation in the Women’s Club, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, assisting with Grief Support and Funeral Luncheons, and helping with the Advent Tea. Her service to others reflected her generous and faithful spirit. Carol also enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards and dominoes, visiting casinos, and dancing whenever she had the opportunity. More than anything, she treasured the relationships she built throughout her life and the joy of being surrounded by those she loved. Carol will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and loyal friend whose kindness and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Instate Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 10:30 AM with a Funeral Mass starting at 11 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 44800 Warren Road, Canton Michigan 48187. Visitation will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Road West (Between Sheldon and Beck) Plymouth.
