Colin Andrew Wright

Colin Andrew Wright, May 18,1992, 31 born and raised in Canton, Michigan went to heaven January 12, 2024. Loved and cherished by his parents, Denise Ceravolo-Wright, the late James Wright, and his sister, Paige (Alec) Martin. He was the beloved grandson of his Nana, Grammy and Grandma Sharon. Loved by his amazing Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Colin’s passion for hockey began as a young child. Aside from school and playing with friends, the majority of his time was spent on the ice. He grew up in a new neighborhood with families raising young children. We became especially close with the McGinnis, Ozeranic, and Schultz families and to this day they think of each other as siblings. Colin’s hockey career continued through his senior year in high school. Junior year his team (Canton Crush) won states and finished 3rd at Nationals. A hockey player's dream… unfortunately Colin was injured just before Nationals, still recovering he was able to attend Nationals, dress and briefly step onto the ice. Colin graduated from the University of Michigan AA with a bachelor's degree in economics. It was his goal to attend U of M and only U of M at a very young age. GO BLUE! Vacations were very important to our family. Every year was a new destination, from the beaches of Aruba to the slopes in Colorado and Montana. Camping along the Lake Michigan shoreline was a family favorite with Uncle Frank, Aunt Barb and the Porretta’s. Equally important was visiting family yearly in New York and Florida. Colin’s other passion was golf! He was an excellent golfer with a beautiful swing. He shared his love for golf with his father who was equally talented and of course his Uncle’s who he loved to beat. Colin loved all sports, but of course U of M was his favorite. Thankfully he got to see them go on to and win the Rose Bowl and National Championship. He shared his love for the Yankees with his Grandma Sharon, texting each other during games. In addition he enjoyed watching Band Of Brothers and BarStool Sports on TV. A note from his devoted mom, Denise; loyal, compassionate, big hearted, knowledgeable, and competitive describes my son. After graduating from college, he put his future on hold to live with his father and take care of his Nana until her passing. Again, after starting his career in Chicago, he left his job to come home to take care of his Momma without a second thought. Everyone knew Colin’s love for fashion. His collection of tennis shoes, hats, t-shirts and hoodies…. Well, let’s say I stopped counting a long time ago! Colin's happiest moments were spending time with family. His crazy Aunts and Uncles kept us laughing the entire time we were together. We called it “Busting Chops”. True and loyal friend to many, his buddies/brothers Christopher, Kevin, Terrance and Andrew never left his side. Last year he was honored to stand up in his sister Paige and Alec’s wedding. Just recently he found out he was going to be an uncle and couldn’t wait to teach his niece or nephew to golf!
