Morris Darga - August 26, 2026 age 84 of Canton. Beloved husband of the late Linda (nee Biggins) Darga. Loving father of Christine Darga and Rebecca (Alan) Hunt. Proud grandfather of Theodore Hunt and Emily Hunt. Dear brother of the late Jan Darga. Morrie was born on January 1, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Norbert and Irene Darga. From an early age, his parents instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for nature, fishing, camping, and Northern Michigan. He carried that love of the outdoors throughout his life, creating beautiful wildlife gardens and often enjoying the company of a dog by his side. After graduating from high school in 1960, Morrie joined the United States Army on October 23, 1961. He served on active duty until 1964 and continued his service in the reserves from 1964 to 1967. He served honorably and attained the rank of Specialist. Morrie married Linda Biggins on May 9, 1970, in Detroit, Michigan. Together, they built a life centered around family and cherished memories. Morrie worked for Ford Motor Company as a Tool and Die Maker. Among his professional accomplishments was helping create a new position at Ford that established a more efficient and organized storage system for blueprints. He also valued education and earned an associate’s degree from Henry Ford Community College in 1988. Retirement did not slow Morrie down. He enjoyed the challenge of working as a test driver for Kia several days a week, an opportunity that suited both his curiosity and his appreciation for automobiles. Morrie was a member of the United States Bowling Congress, the Audubon Society, BassMaster, and Crownline Boat Owners. His many interests included fishing, bowling, bird and wildlife watching, boating, camping, making art, and taking pride in keeping his yard beautiful. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Rebecca’s home. The gathering will be an informal, open-house-style event, with lunch and drinks provided. Those wishing to attend are asked to text or send a Facebook message to either Rebecca or Christine for the address. Family and friends are warmly invited to visit, reminisce, and share stories and memories of Morrie’s life. Memorial contributions may be made to the Super Bowl Youth Bowling League and mailed to Super Bowl Lanes, 41500 Ford Road, Canton, MI 48187, C/O Doug Sewesky.
