Baughman, Voila A., December 14, 2022 age 90 of Plymouth. Beloved wife of George. Loving mother of Lori (Dennis) Gardner, George Jr. (Raleigh) Baughman and Roger (Maria Koppinger) Baughman. Proud grandmother of Kelly (Ben), Amelia, Isadora, Fiona, Jasen, and Tabby (Matt) and great grandmother of Sophia. Preceded in death by her siblings, Audrey, Barbara, and George. Family Obituary: After a lifetime of love, Voila Amelia Baughman died on December 14, 2022, at home, surrounded by family, after a brief illness. Vi was the third daughter of George Videan and Mary Smith, born April 28, 1932. While a child in Detroit, she met her soul mate, George Baughman, when they were just 6 years old. Growing up, their families were sometimes states apart. Attending college (he at Notre Dame, and her at Michigan Agricultural College) separated them. But they always came back to each other and were married at The Shrine of the Little Flower on June 12, 1954. Their life together included building a business- Vi helped with the work of Plastomer Corporation by bookkeeping from the kitchen table, as she kept a wonderful house and home for George and their children. Fun with family and friends filled much of their time, as did travel. And, of course, animals. Lots and lots of animals. Always happy to help, Vi shared her time and talents in many ways in the community, including candy striper at Beaumont Hospital for 19 years, and knitting many mittens, scarves and prayer shawls for distribution thru the Church. And, of course, donations to the animal causes that were so very near and dear to her heart. The family would like to thank the staffs at the oncology department of St. Mary's in Livonia, Home Instead, and Angela's Hospice, for the kindness they showed Vi while caring for her.
